Ordained Vocations
The Cathedral Parish is blessed with many vocations, as can be
seen by looking at the Cathedral home page. In this Year
for the Priest, you are invited to make a special effort to pray
for our priests each day and for priestly vocations. The
following prayer is one that we are using at Corpus Christi
Cathedral at our daily Masses:
Suggested Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please
grant to Your faithful servants,
the grace and strength to carry out Your mission
for the church each day.
Keep our priests close to You and
continue to inspire them to serve others
in Your holy name.
Please help to inspire men
who are called to a priestly vocation
to answer Your call and
participate in the fullness that
You have planned for them.
Amen.
The Cathedral Parish is also blessed with the presence and service of the Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, who are from India. They are here to serve the Cathedral parish and the Diocese of Corpus Christi in many ways. Some are involved with the Mother Theresa Shelter, some serve in the hospitals, and a few teach. In the Cathedral parish they serve as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, sing in the choir, etc.
Suggested Prayer:
FATHER, You call all who believe in You to grow perfect in love by following in the footsteps of Christ your Son. We thank you for all the consecrated religious you have called, especially the Sisters of Adoration, whom you have called from so far away to serve us in Corpus Christi. Bless them and help them by their lives always to be a convincing sign of your kingdom for the Cathedral parish and the whole diocese.
